Where is Japan, this beautiful nation (*1), heading for at the moment? We wonder if Japan, which has its own language, indigenous culture, unique way of thinking, has submerged and been overshadowed by other features particular to Japan, such as being a world leading car manufacturer or an eminent producer of animations, which are gaining popularity around the world. It is especially under these circumstances that we believe in the significance of realizing the value of traditions that have been handed down over generations, in the quest of the inherent Japanese culture, and to provide leading Japanese technology and products to people worldwide.
The technologies are based on the skillful fingertip expertise of technicians that excel the performances of even the finest electronic digital technologies.
● Indigo blue delicately dyed and weaved. ● Red color with extra depth achieved by using the tsuishu (*2) technique of Japanese lacquer, repeatedly coating the red color in layers. ● Shuni-e (*3) (Water-Drawing festival) at the Nigatsu-do of the Todai temple, a festival that has been held every year over the last 1200 years.
How many people throughout the world know of these aspects of Japanese culture?
We, the “Modern Nippon Project”, treasure the traditions and technologies which have descended over a long period of time in this “beautiful” nation. By targeting the entire world with our products and technology, we are trying to contribute to the preservation as well as the development of Japanese culture, and also to the establishment of its identity. It is our wish to restore the glow in Japanese culture that seems to be fading away, and to share this glow with the rest of the world. Armed with the latest technology, we will passionately transmit (*4) to the whole world “the new beautiful nation-Japan”, in its true meaning.
We will exert ourselves in the creation of “the new beautiful-Japan” by forming a sense of a “universal model of the Japanese essence,” that is both international and contemporary.
